Essential Oils for Pain? Allowed?

Essential Oils for pain is a question I receive a lot. Essential Oils may be able to provide relief for minor muscle and joint aches and help you recover from workouts, but products actually must be FDA approved for pain in the United States. Otherwise, it is a drug claim.

Essential Oils for Pain? NO! But OTC Pain Relieving Product made with EOs? YES!

What Products do I use for Minor Aches and Discomfort?

The product I use to address temporary conditions and IS approved by the FDA for the uses listed below is:

• Cool Azul Essential Oil Pain Relieve Cream

Certain ingredients when approved by the FDA such as Menthol which is naturally found in Peppermint or Methyl salicylate (naturally found in Wintergreen) have been shown to temporarily relieve minor aches and pains of muscles and joints associated with ACUTE conditions.

However, recognize that the product still must go through FDA approval to CLAIM those actions. These are called Over the Counter (OTC) Drugs. Young Living now has over five FDA OTC products!
